Challenge was to combine the design of the logo that is more than a hundred years old with today's design of the commemorative logo.

The Croatian Writers' Association (DHK) is the oldest literary association in Croatia that is still active today, and its main task is to promote Croatian literature. DHK brings together the most important names in the history of Croatian literature as well as representatives of the contemporary literary scene.

The commemorative logo for the 125th anniversary of DHK, which will be celebrated from April 2025 to April 2026, is based on the square that is part of the historic Croatian coat of arms, which today is the most recognizable symbol of Croatia in the world.

The anniversary is highlighted by a ligature composed of the numbers 1, 2 and 5, and is designed in a contemporary manner, but still reminiscent of the typography used in the 1900s. The existing DHK logo, which was designed circa 1904, is incorporated into the commemorative logo.

When designing the commemorative logo, we paid special attention to ensure that it is applicable and can be used as a trademark on various printed, digital and promotional materials of DHK.

In order to cover all areas of use, a version was designed in which the commemorative and official logos are separate but form a single entity.
